The Naka provides significantly greater durability than a classic clay bowl, thanks to its dense clay and high-temperature firing. The inside of the bowl is glazed with one of Katuro's famous Zodiac glazes to waterproof it and produce tobacco cooking in both the upper and lower parts. In glazing the Naka bowl, Katuro's master potters had the excellent idea of leaving a band of raw clay on the outside of the bowl, so that your chimney does not slip and can grip onto the bowl.
