The Marrakech bowl is a flat bowl as they are commonly found in Egypt and Tunisia. Its large diameter (about 7 cm) will offer a wide area of use. Flat and metal bowls are, among the most ancient forms of hookah bowls. They were traditionally used for smoking black unflavored tobacco called Jurak.

Today flat bowls are also used to consume flavored molasses as usual or as the "mount" technique, for experts who are able to manage this technique.
